County Training Invitation Process
The top 6 boys and girls from each age group, as specified by the LTA rankings data on the date specified below, will be invited to attend county training. The 7th and 8th players may be called upon as a reserve providing they have played at minimum 4 competitions during the previous term. If the 7th and 8th ranked players do not meet the criteria, the County Junior Performance Coordinator (Nick Edwards) and junior age group captain may select two other players of their choice as a wildcard.
County training is a wonderful opportunity to take part in high quality training to improve your child’s game. Attending county training does not guarantee you a place in the county team.
The selection policy details this, but essentially the best way to guarantee a place in the team is to play lots of tennis and improve your ranking such that you achieve automatic selection.
Selection Cutoff Date
A snapshot of the LTA rankings will be taken on the following dates afterwhich invitations will be sent to the first 6 boys and girls in each age group:
U18
- Snapshot taken: 11th July
- Acceptance deadline: 25th July
All others
- Snapshot taken: 31st July
- Acceptance deadline: 16th August
Places not accepted by the deadline will be offered to someone else, as specified above.
