12U Boys County Cup Report

The Under 12 County Cup team put up a valiant effort over two days of exciting tennis action, with plenty of standout performances.

Day 1 saw us face tough opposition. Ben and Mo started strong, both securing wins in their singles matches. Noah fought hard in a thrilling match that went down to a tie-break, narrowly losing 10-8. Despite these efforts, we fell 4-2 against Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

In our second match of the day, Mo continued his excellent form, winning his singles and later pairing with Alfie to win their doubles match. However, the team once again lost 4-2, this time to Staffordshire.

Day 2 brought better fortunes. Andreas secured a win in his singles match, while Mo narrowly lost a close contest. Alfie and Benji came through with strong doubles performances, with Alfie also winning his singles. Jonah and Noah delivered an incredible doubles victory, helping the team beat Shropshire 4-2.

In our final tie against Lincolnshire, Mo’s winning streak continued, and he later teamed up with Jonah for a crucial doubles win. Benji and Mo also paired up for a doubles victory, bringing the match to a 3-3 tie. In a dramatic tie-break shootout, Jonah and Mo triumphed, securing a 4-3 victory.

Overall, we finished 3rd in the tournament. The team displayed fantastic spirit, and every player contributed to a memorable weekend of tennis!
